Crowns of flowers, embroidered silk, hairstyles that echo distant dynasties — and then a smartphone in hand, the bustle of a market street, the crowd pressing through a temple. This gallery was born from those encounters: moments stolen between the sacred and the everyday, between cultural identity and modern life.I photographed in the courtyards of Quanzhou’s temples, in the narrow alleys of the old city, in the villages of the Tulou.
