Life Across Cities
CROSSING CITIES
“There is no assignment here, no client, no deadline. Just me, moving through cities,
and the images that stopped me long enough to press the shutter”

Every city has a rhythm that cannot be learned — only breathed. Names change, language changes, light changes. But there is always a moment when the street ceases to be background and becomes subject. When something stills within, even as everything around it keeps moving. These photographs were not born from an assignment. There is no theme to illustrate, no story to tell, no client to satisfy. There is only the walking — slow, open, without a fixed destination. And the eye that grows accustomed to the noise and then, suddenly, sees. To move through a city is to move through oneself. Perhaps this is the meaning of travel: not to discover new places, but to discover the gaze that those places awaken. The images gathered here come from cities far apart from one another. And yet something holds them together — a way of inhabiting the present, the same willingness to stop when everything invites you to keep moving. They are not postcards. They are not documents. They are the moment in which the city and the one who crosses it recognised each other.
